Vina Pizza & Steakhouse - Calgary

Rod and Elizabeth might be operating the most underrated mom and pop restaurant in Calgary. Whether you're getting takeout or dining in, the food is always delicious.

We recently arrived in Calgary and came across this restaurant. Unsure of what to expect, we decided to give it a try. It was definitely worth the risk.

This lovely restaurant is family-owned and offers delicious food, especially their excellent pizza. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff is welcoming.

We just flew into Calgary and stumbled on this restaurant. Not knowing what to expect, we decided to take a chance. Wow, was this worth the risk. We were treated warmly and the food was great. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was cooked to perfection with a great tzatziki on the side. My wife loved the Alfredo and my daughter, a notoriously picky eater, wolfed down the spaghetti in pomodoro sauce. The service was great and the people were very friendly. This place was quite the find and worth a return.

Our family went to Vina on a Friday evening. There were 6 of us. We were warmly greeted and our reserved table was ready for us. The restaurant has a cosy, homey atmosphere with booths. We started with drinks which included cold beer, a well made Caesar, a vodka and cranberry juice and red wine. We ordered a variety of dishes and all were well prepared, well presented and delicious. We ordered the Vina burger, the Prime Beef burger, Chicken Souvlaki, Veal Cutlet dinner, Penne Carbonara and Layered Lasagna with a green side salad. The salad has pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries as well as grape tomatoes, nice greens and a light vinaigrette house dressing. The food was hot and the servings were generous. The meals all came with yummy garlic toast. The server, Sean, was very attentive and polite. The owner, Elizabeth, came to our table for a visit. They always give you delicious coffee candies with the bill. My husband and I go there every Friday for dinner and always take our family and visiting friends there. I highly recommend that you try Vina!
