There were tons of restaurants within walking distance and we never had trouble finding street parking overnight (granted it was Thanksgiving week). We were in an accessible room. We didn't need it, but I think it was larger so they gave it to us as an upgrade I'm guessing. There was actually a refrigerator in our room (which I didn't expect) and a microwave and water station on the hall. There was a small cabinet in the hall that had extra cups, tea, coffee, soap, tissues, etc. to take as needed. There was someone at the front desk and the main door was open until later in the evening. My only comment (not a complaint) was that our bathroom had a barn door that only stayed closed if locked with a hook and eye. The hook and eye was pretty high up and would not be accessible to someone in a wheelchair. Just something to think about.
We really enjoyed our stay. Modern, spacious rooms and a great location. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.
We stayed for two nights when we arrived from the UK to the US on holiday. Lovely place to stay in central Cambridge, it’s an easy walk to the Central metro, and a doable walk into Harvard to see the college if you don’t have a car. It’s right on the Main Street so lots of cafes and bars nearby. However the check in is all automated with access code on the front door and to the room we had issues with checking in as we didn’t realise it needed to be the bill payer’s ID to check in not the person in whose name you booked the room, took us a while to sort out! We weren’t the only ones struggling as there were some girls stranded outside late at night with a similar issue useful to bear in mind if you are coming from abroad and don’t have phone service in the US make sure you have used Wi Fi in advance to check in and get your room codes then screenshot them! In the daytime there is someone at the front desk though.Large comfy beds, good shower, enjoyed the coffee machine in the morning. Expensive for what it is but I think that is all Boston accommodation to be fair. We wanted to book this place when we came back to Boston before flying back to the UK but sadly the prices had risen so much it was unaffordable, otherwise would have stayed again.Would recommend if you are able to book in far enough advance to keep prices down!
This hotel follows a business model where amenities and services are slashed in ways that I didn't love. Cleaning costs extra and must be scheduled two days in advance, which is an annoying thing to discover when you just want someone to empty the trash cans during a multiple-day stay. Very limited desk hours and checking in online had many technical issues. You use a key code, not a room key, to get in and out. My room was small and lacked common amenities like a mini fridge, a usable chair and table, or any form of closet or storage. Location is great but rooms overlooking the square can be loud. Will probably avoid Sonder hotels in the future.
Unfortunately, during my stay, a false fire alarm was triggered four times during the night, among them three times in a single night. While I understand the unfortunate situation of a malfunctioning detector (even though four times within a few days is particularly unfortunate), it compromised my sleep during the stay, as at any moment the alarm could fire and the building had to be evacuated.Overall, it's somehow a noisy place (the fire station is just on the other side of the street, and the area is very active at night. Rooms are not cleaned during the stay.Nearby activities: Lot's of restaurantsSafety: I felt safe
