My Indonesian wife was craving some home-cooked food, so we decided to visit this restaurant that I had tried about 15 years ago. Despite its continued popularity, not much had changed. The dishes were delicious, but the gravy was a bit thin. However, the prices were reasonable.
The lunch special is a great deal and just the right amount for a midday meal. My favorite dishes are the white curry and red curry.
I have to admit, I hesitated to write this review because I don't want more people to discover this gem of a restaurant. My go-to dish is the Opor lunch deal, which comes with rice, curry, a drink, and a crispy deep-fried entree for just $10. It's the perfect portion size for the average person. And if you're feeling a bit indulgent, I highly recommend getting a box of Indo's special fried chicken for an extra $4. The owner is friendly and makes you feel like you're eating at your best friend's house.
Located downstairs in the Canberra Centre Food Court, this little takeaway does the most amazing fresh creamy coconut chicken laksa and their green curry chicken and Nasi goring are also as equally tasty. It’s always a must when I’m in the city at the Canberra Centre. The staff are pleasant and you can tell that it is a small family owned busines.
