Mucini Italian Kitchen - Canterbury

Myself and two friends came on short notice to the restaurant as we traveled down to Whitstable for the day. The staff were incredibly accomodating, respectful and friendly. After we were sat down, orders were taken quickly and the food arrived soon after. The food...was freshly cooked basically in front of us and tasted amazing. Honestly one of the best meals I've had, let alone Italians! The ambiance was relaxed, classy and you really get that family owned feeling. Compliments to the staff and chef, well worth the journey and without doubt will be back again.

After seeing all the positive reviews, I was hopeful that I would love this restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I ordered a medium steak, but it was tough, chewy, and lacked flavor. I have no plans to return, as there are far better Italian restaurants out there.

A group of girls and I visited the restaurant on a busy Thursday evening. One of my friends was getting married the next day, so us bridesmaids wanted to have a nice, relaxed meal before the big day. Unfortunately, we were seated under a speaker playing extremely loud music, making it difficult for us to chat. To our surprise, the waitress came over and rudely asked us to leave, even though we had only just ordered drinks. She slammed the bill on our table and walked away. We were treated disrespectfully and felt humiliated. We were informed by the staff that we were asked to leave because the locals were unhappy with our presence. The treatment we received was appalling, and we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. When we told our hotel about the incident, they mentioned that the restaurant is known for being very rude to customers.

Doesn’t look much from the outside but came recommended or we wouldn’t have considered eating here. Pre booking recommended but we were lucky enough to get a table in advance on the day. Payment is cash only. Covid measures in place but waiting staff don’t...wear masks. Staff were friendly service was very good. Food was delicious reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if you enjoy Italian cuisine.

Despite holidaying in Whitstable for the last four years only found this delightful restaurant this year. It was so good we went twice. Food was delicious and cooked in full view in their open kitchen The staff are attentive and friendly and prices very reasonable.... Thank you
