El Paisano Grill And - Carbondale

Absolutely loved it! First time being here and everything is wonderful! For the price, you get big portions and tons of flavor! 10/10 recommend! Kid-friendliness: Amazing environment and energy! Kid friendless at it’s finest, and has an amazing photo wall by the entrance with a vine wall and angel wings.

My favorite Mexican restaurant. The people are so attentive and polite.

We just moved to the area. Have been to several Mexican restaurants in town. This one is hands down the best we have had yet. Highly recommend this one.

Was in Carbondale for work for a few days and my hosts brought me here for lunch one day. I found El Paisano to be as good, or better, than several of the authentic Mexican restaurants in my hometown.The chips were perfect and the salsa had a perfect blend of flavor and spiciness; not too much and not too little. They did bring other sauces to add if one desired more heat though.I ordered three chorizo street tacos which were incredible, with more than enough meat and other toppings to be filling but not overly so. 10/10 I 'd eat here again to try something else off the menu.

Our experience here tonight was very dissatisfying. It was somewhat busy which is to be expected on a Saturday night but this felt like someone dropped the ball. We were seated and got our drinks. We put in our food orders and 1 and 1/2 hour went by with nothing. Finally our server stopped by and asked if we got our food. We said no and he came back and got our orders AGAIN. He said he must’ve lost the order-it had never been put in. This is why we were seeing people who had come in after us get their food, ate, and were already leaving. My toddler was starving and they hadn’t even started cooking. We told them sure and they brought it out in 20-30 minutes. Portions were small/okay. Food was good. But To top this off, the manager only took $10 off the bill-we should’ve justified that the inconvenience was greater but didn’t feel like arguing with them. They ruined the plans we had for afterwards and we left so disappointed as we had never visited before so were excited to try it. I get that servers have off nights and aren’t perfect but how do you forget a whole table of people exist? We won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it.
