Nothing is explicitly labeled as vegan on the menu, so I ordered the Tofu Scramble and made sure to say no butter on the toast based on other comments here. Service was great and the waiter was very helpful and with questions to check no milk / meat / eggs in things. Food was really good! Also wanted to comment, they have this cool app where you can see your place on the waiting list as they were very busy when I arrived. Wish more restaurants did that! You also have a togo window where you can get coffee while you wait.
They have a tofu scramble for breakfast, but when they served the toast with butter on it, it made me wonder if the dish is actually vegan on its own. I think I trusted the previous reviews too blindly. Future Mäzen: ask if the dish can be made vegan instead of when it comes as I did. Dish himself was good, but very salty! You have oat milk for coffee, which was great.
Kudos to Village Smithy for a vegan Tofu Scramble, veggie green chili and the impossible burger. Hopefully they will offer more options in the future! Maybe olive oil instead of butter on the toast?
Great breakfast place. In an area that is not very vegan/vegetarian friendly, this place is a beautiful surprise. The Tofu Scramble is delicious and has beautiful pieces of vegetables in the mix. I like it is fluffy and yellow (tumeric) instead of Bland-Chunks. The hashbrowns are good and the Kashi and Zucchini pilaf (Schmied 7) is a unique side. You also have some veggie lunches.
My husband and I came to Village Smitty to brunch together and we have the best server in Restaurant Alli is their name. She was so knowledge about the menu give us suggestions and they recommended us the Belgian waffles! She was right that they are the best we ever try in the valley. We will not only come back for food, but also for the great service that Alli gave us.
