Kimchi - Cardiff

I want to give a big shoutout to the couple who graciously agreed to move upstairs at the manager's request so we could sit downstairs with our pram, even though we didn't have a reservation. We were visiting Cardiff from a distance and were craving Korean food. Note: the chicken is halal, but the meat is not. The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly efficient and friendly. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant when we come back to Cardiff. I highly recommend dining here, you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, including options for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages like Soju. They now accept credit cards in addition to cash. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I absolutely adore Kimchi. The food is scrumptious, and the DIY grill experience is truly unique in this city (they deserve an extra star for that). I do wish they offered the same sides and accompaniments as other Korean BBQ spots, as they really enhance the meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself is in need of some maintenance and from the outside, you might assume it's closed. (They lose a star for this, without a doubt). In terms of style and service, it doesn't quite measure up to other Korean BBQ places. I hope they consider a makeover, but they are always bustling because there's nothing quite like it... and did I mention how delicious it is?

Firstly, a good tip...if you see a number of the same nationality of the restaurant dining there, it 's going to be good. The rule bore out this time too. As first timers we approached confused, but decided to have a set meal to cover all bases. The spicy pork barbecue, kimchi, stone pot, pancake, chilli chicken, drink AND pudding represented excellent value for money and it was great fun cooking the pork, even if the other half wasn 't sure whether she was coming or going most of the time! Some might see it as a basic set up, but we were more intereted in cooking and eating, rather than looking at pictures on the wall!
