Chesswood - Carleton Place

I ordered the Cowboy Salmon and it was cooked perfectly, served with Mango salsa and fresh vegetables. The staff was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant.

My husband and I are both very picky eaters, and we were both so pleased with the food and the service at Chesswood. The food was delicious - everything so fresh and tasty! Friendly staff, and even a solid wine list! Can't say enough about how great our first visit was! We will return for sure.

My husband and I enjoyed the Wednesday pasta night supper. My seafood alfredo fusili was excellent with crab, shrimps and scallops plentiful! The alfredo sauce was flavorful and of good consistancy. My husband had a pasta with moules. The "moules" were plentiful and the linguini well prepared. An excellent meal at a reasonable cost, however a small salad with these entrées would have made the meal complete, Adding a $ to the cost for a small salad would improve the value overall. We will definitely return and want to try Friday Fish night which boasts of Battered Fish and Chips (a à la Ramsay style according to the chef.) A special price will likely apply as applied on our Pasta night. The pasta dishes were $16.00, I believe with beverage not included. The restaurant is quite clean, and likely attended well on Sports events as the 2 TV. screens were of superior definition. Staff was pleasant and service was fast. We would recommend this restaurant over the Black Angus,also a recent addition to Carleton Place, as there are more choices on the menu ..

I hosted a group there yesterday, and we all enjoyed our meals. They had a Thursday night special of steak, baked potato and veg for $13 which is hard to beat. Come prices were quite reasonable - we had a Malbec which was$25. My only issue was that the staff put carafes of water on the table and I had to ask for them to be refilled. On the other hand, my daughter had to step out to deal with her son, and at my request they took away her meal and kept it warm - actually they may have remade it.

Went to Chesswoods on Thursday night and the food and service were excellent. Why go to Ottawa when you can great food at a good price in Carleton Place
