But the owner who seemed apologetic first changed her expression quickly and started getting mad when I asked for a refund and ended up giving me a partial refund. The way she handled the situation was terrible... plus the people handling the food, no matter what or where, should all be wearing hair nets or hats. But that wasn’t the case here and no wonder why I found hair in my food... very disappointed...
Great comfort food. No nonsense and does not disappoint.
This restaurant is also listed on Google as Um Ma Son (Arirang Korean Kitchen if you 're looking for it there! It 's a pretty small place with a few tables so make sure you try to get there before rush hour. The menu is pretty straightforward and their main thing kalguksu (Korean wheat flour noodles--similar to udon . They also specialize in dumplings! We ordered the kimchi kalguksu, chicken kalguksu and the sesame kalguksu with water dumplings and the big buns. The portions are very generous and seasoned very well! Be warned that their kimchi is super spicy (even by Korean standards! Water is self-served and you bus your own tables. Definitely authentic Korean food and don 't overlook it because the decor and outside don 't look as impressive as other places!
Got spicy eggplant noodle and kimchi dumpling, noodles and sauce came out cold, wasn't at all spicy and tasted a bit bland. Reminded me of cold spaghetti but with spongier noodles. The dumplings were decent. The side of kimchi tasted sour, similar to preserved kimchi you buy from store. The can diet soda I got tasted flat and expired. Food looked better than it tasted.
I went to this joint on a Sunday afternoon after a long night of drinking the night prior. Before we left for the restaurant, I had some ramen for brunch to nurse my hangover so mind you I was already pretty full. When my wife and I and our friends came in, I did not think I was going to order any food but the smell was irresistible for me to not get some fresh noodles. Lo and behold, I found some empty pocket in my stomach to get these bad boys in my belly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an authentic Korean kkal-guk-su experience.
