We tried it today for the first time… And it was just OK at best neither my wife nor I enjoyed any of our three sushi rolls. The Negri was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. The fish didn’t necessarily taste super fresh and the best way to describe one of the rolls was watered down. The staff was friendly enough and it still had a nice vibe mellow atmosphere inside. However, we don’t expect to come back here. Doesn’t seem appropriate to me that the new ownership got to keep the old name of the restaurant since it was named after the original owner.
I have been here twice and both times the Sashimi Platter, Calamari and Miso Soup were spectacular. I would definitely recommend Sushi Kazu.
Easily some of the best sushi I've had. Loved the atmosphere and the lunch service was excellent.
The miso ramen soup with Yodon noddles was excellent. The chicken on my wife's dish was a little tough.
My Japanese wife and I went to the restaurant tonight. My expectations were modest. I was so wrong. This is a truly wonderful restaurant and as good or better than places I have eaten in Tokyo and Kyushu. The food quality is exceptional and so is the service. We ordered the chef’s special for two. Wow! Really great. The price for all this was incredibly reasonable. $45 x 2 plus a small serving of sake $20. Totally worth the 30 minute drive.
