Served with the lamb were some lotus root vegetable and an alarming amount of dark red chilli peppers Pork slices offered a milder spicy kick that were succulent upon bites, my favourite of them all Service was good with attentive staff
We dined in at Sichuan Grand on a Friday evening. We arrived at a very nostalgic restaurant which paid homage to the great Chinese tradition of deep mahogany wood and red lanterns, this really created a warm and inviting atmosphere. We was greeted and seated within good time with no formal reservation and the host was very pleasant, clean and welcoming. The food was delicious and the menu had authentic delights such as pork trotters and offal served in classic sauces and seasoning. We had chicken and lamb dishes complimented by vermicelli noodles and rice. Although we had a bit of a wait between dishes arriving at our table the taste was sensational and quietness was imminent as we tucked in to our Friday night treat. Overall the food, hospitality, cleanliness and atmosphere was 10:10 and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty Chinese meal. The restaurant and also offers takeaway and you will find them on just eat and deliveroo So if your ever in Stratford be sure to check the place out
I used to go to this restaurant every time I was in London. It was my favourite untill today. First of all we booked a table and there was no confirmation, nobody greeted us at the door on arrival and we had to wait a long time before we even realised we can take any table we want. And I am pregnant with a toddler, my friend had a leg operation with coaches. No assistance at all, waited for baby chair for some time. Menus were given but nobody asked us at least for drinks for 23 min and my baby was getting cranky because starving. We ordered everything and everybody else was served apart from us, even people who arrived much later than us. No cutleries or chop sticks provided, no attention to details, no spare plates or bowls untill asked for some, the waiter even made a comment on that. One dish finally came for one of us and the other person had to wait and watch me eat. At least food was great but staff is so poor they made us feel discriminated for not being Asians. I felt like if I was one I would have been served first. Will never visit that place again and even let all my local friends know what experience I had tonight. Not enjoyable at all. And I really loved that place
This is my favourite Chinese place in the area. I've deliverood many times and i was finally able to visit our, and thank God i did. classic Sichuan dishes with numb and spicy sauce, gung bao, dan dan noodles, salt and pepper chicken: all the favourites done perfectly. and the boiled fish in spicy Sichuan sauce is a must have!
Very authentic! My mum is from Sichuan and she is very critical when it comes to food from her hometown, so you know it’s a good place if my mum approves… and she absolutely loved it! One issue was the order of service. Drinks were served first, which was good. But next should be the cold starters and soups, then mains, then dessert. We were also missing a soup until we and so we had to flag it up. However, we’ll give the benefit of the doubt that today was Chinese New Year’s Eve and there didn’t seem to be a lot of staff so it must have been busy to keep track. Staff were also friendly and efficient. Overall, the food was delicious. Definitely coming back in the future
