Contribuisci feedbackI 'm a lifelong chicago native. Alot of the places that had a chicago 'feel ' to them have long gone away. Now I 'm not saying this happens everyday but tonight as I enjoyed my taco dinner the cooks started singing to the radio. Doesn 't seem like much buts its small things like this that remind me of a simpler, easier time.
I have liked this place for years, always more authentic than many Mexican restaurants around the area, but like everything else, service has been a little slower than before, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the food here!
This place is affordable and good. I decided to try something new and the food was good. I had a nopales (cactus) gordita and shrimp tostada. The gordita was just amazing. The nopales had a very unique seasoning that made my taste buds water. I will definitely order gordita again. The tostada was just okay. It was like a shrimp coctel on a tostada. I also recommend al pastor and steak tacos. Service is also fast. I took a star away because the the ladies working there can be nicer, specially an older lady at the register. Parking: If you during lunch hour or weekend, parking is a nightmare. Their parking is super small (for about 5 cars). If full, you have to park a block or two down.
The food was good but the sanitation of that restaurant meets the standards of Mexico Sanitation but not sanitation standards of the USA they need to make the sanitation books in Spanish so the owners of this restaurant can understand you're supposed to throw your toilet paper in the toilet after you're done wiping during number two the bathroom as well as the whole building needs to be shut down and cleaned it's amazing the city hasn't gotten after them
I ordered at around 9:40ish am this morning and I am disappointed with my order. I was the only customer at that time. I ordered two tacos de lengua. The lengua was extremely dry and was not even hot. The tortilla was not even heated properly. I also ordered arroz and frijoles on the side and they were extremely salty and also cold. The rice was burnt and looked old from the day before. I live 5 min away, impossible for food to get this cold and nasty. Just by looking at the rice, it looks nasty.
