Green Mill Restaurant And Bar - Chicago

Historic, iconic, and fun! If only the walls could talk. Visiting the Green Mill feels like stepping back in time. The live music is fantastic, and the dance floor is cozy and often crowded. Arrive early if you want a seat. There's a cover charge on Thursday nights, and the drinks could be better. Overall, I'm grateful for this experience! I highly recommend it!

Lovely venue, beautifully decorated, great performers. Unfortunately, the male staff behind the bar was quite rude but the female table staff went above and beyond. No food here.

What an exceptional place! I was in Chicago for just three days, but I did my homework and knew that, as a live music enthusiast, I had to visit this venue. The atmosphere was exactly what I had anticipated. I sat at a barstool right next to one of the servers who was fetching drinks from the bartender, and we quickly hit it off (thanks, Sarah!). I mentioned my next destination, and she knew the bartender there. She even wrote me a note to give him, which ensured I received great service – and I did! The bartender at this venue was excellent as well, creating fantastic drinks. The music was wonderful and truly transported me back in time, making me feel like I was part of an episode of Boardwalk Empire.

If you're a fan of jazz, this is the perfect spot for you. Just be aware that they don't serve food, so it's best to visit when you're not hungry. Also, remember to bring cash, as they only accept cash payments!

Our server was a little bit too grabby on the drinks. My son and I had old-fashions which really did not taste. Good at all. Poorly made, or poor whiskey. Our server kept trying to take her drinks when we weren't finished lol. Nice try honey..... The ambiance was good. And the music was exceptional. A good time was had by my wife, son and I. This is said to have been Al Capone's speakeasy. Cover charge was $20 per person. Then drinks on top of that. Ran us about $110 beyond cover charge.
