Pick Me Up Cafe - Chicago

Been to this Pick Me Up a number of times.. food is always delicious..waiter/waitress service is always friendly and quick! The reason for the 2 stars? The host/ manager/owner is so rude. Bad impression on the wait to be seated. He actually sat three tables of 2 or more before seating me.. first come first served.? Note that this has happened to me before at Pick Me Up..no more! Moving on to another place. Too bad!

Pick me up Cafe is a really cute cafe with funky colors and an old school diner feel. They had a separate gluten free menu and the server was knowledgeable about their Gfree options. Erratic describes both the service and the kitchen as of late. Although bigger and brighter than the old location, the waitstaff has seemingly shrunken, and the food is inconsistent; dry chicken and mushy falafel was what we were served most recently, about an hour after we ordered. The coffee and dessert remain good.

This is a brightly decorated vegetarian restaurant with a huge selection of yummy brunch choices. We had a table of 4 adults and 3 kids and there was something for everyone. The vegan options were plentiful and portions huge. Multiple different omelets, pancakes, delicious veggie scrambles. The service was good and all the food was delicious. It’s casual and the price was reasonable. We will go back again. They don’t take reservations so for larger groups call and check your timing.

Great experience and food at Pick Me Up Cafe! Everything we had was delicious, it was pretty quiet midweek, service was great too. We ate the vegan nachos and the buffalo wrap with seitan as the protein. Prices are great, many vegetarian and vegan options! Wish we had left room for dessert!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian paradise!
