Foundation Cafe - Christchurch

The Foundation Cafe in Christchurch is truly exceptional. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the Big Breakfast Veggie option. The coffee is divine and the Lime Blossom and chamomile tea is wonderful. The scones, especially the Date and orange and cheese scones, are mouth watering. The staff, led by the friendly manager Susan, create a warm and welcoming environment. They are efficient, even during busy times, and the music selection adds to the cafe's enjoyable atmosphere. Susan's leadership and communication skills are commendable, and the rest of the team, including Anne, are also fantastic. Despite some negative reviews, my experience at Foundation Cafe has always been positive. It truly is a special place with a unique charm.

I took the bus downtown specifically to visit this café. The interior is charming, the food is delicious, the staff is very friendly, and there are two registers so you are served quickly. My scone and hot chocolate arrived promptly. The atmosphere is bustling in a positive way. Soft French music sets the mood, and the large windows offer a view of Cathedral Square and the surrounding area. I enjoyed doing some crochet while having my meal. It was a truly wonderful afternoon. I will definitely return. Thank you so much!

This restaurant has an amazing location and an incredible menu! There are plenty of choices to accommodate all dietary needs, and the staff provides wonderful service. Despite being busy, the service was quick, and they even made a custom drink for my friend called a 'London fog'. I loved my long black with cream (at no extra charge for the cream) so much that I forgot to take a photo, but their cabinet selection is impressive. I can't wait to go back and try the food. My friend had a delicious creamy pasta salad, and they offer fresh salads daily. It's a winner!

They have fabulous homemade Kombucha here which brings me back for more. Loved the grape and orange one you had today. Cheese scones are decent and service is great. My only criticism is that it gets so busy, which is great for business but a pain if you want to find a seat and have some peace and quiet. Maybe a quiet area dedicated for people who come alone and just want to be away from the busyness?
