And the cook had a meltdown and when the sandwich came it looked as if it was thrown together blindly. And the chicken was raw. I let the waitress know. But I didn't want to make a huge spectacle of it. They should strictly only serve a breakfast menu in the morning if their cook can't handle 6 people in the restaurant.
The chicken pita was very good, very heavy on the cheese. I did not like the onion rings at all they were so big with very heavy breading. The Philly cheese steak was pretty good and the French onion soup was good. But $42 for onion rings I couldn’t finish 2 sandwiches and a soda with frys is a lot for the quality of the food plus $50 after you tip and it took about 30 minutes to get my lunch. The waitress was very good and nice to talk to. I would go back but only for the breakfast deals every time I come in with a friend I always wonder how we spend more than $50 at a diner.
The negative reviews of this place are all from Coney Island employees. Copper Penny is cash money
Extremely slow service, disorganized, okay food. I arrived for my take out and they couldn't find my order. Once they found my order, they took another 30 minutes to make it. When I got home I discovered the order wasn't correct.
My family and I dine in with copper penny a few times each quarter. The food is always hot tasty. Our typical order consist of omelette with sausage gravy so so good.
