I have eaten here several times in the past. the rib tips and stems were the best of all time! but business was so good for larry that he closed shop and again on getwell in memphis, hoping to earn a lot more money (word his fantastic word had been close to memphis and he really thought that his eating would be popular with a bigger market.) after a few months he closed his Memphis location. I know everyone upstairs to be true. the word was and is still that larrys eating was so popular that he had too much business and had to work so hard and so many hours that he just stopped. although unconfirmed, this is probably the truth. as far as I know, larry has not returned his business to clarksdale and has no plans to do so.

What a wonderful place! get the hot tamales: it is larry's speciality. we chose to tell us. choose a meat, either ripen, fried chicken or bark liver then their side. two sides with ribs or three with chicken or bark livers. it comes with a pop and cornbread. the sides included yams, drilling, Mac cheese, greens and others. all of them were absolutely excellent comfort food. larry came to the table for a visit. it is an old world charm and standard. larry also offers choices from grill like burger, hot dogs and such.

First time in the region and we were after Tamales. Larry's was recommended. Went to get some at 7pm on a Friday they were sold out. So I got rib tips. Several people came and were disappointed to miss out. The ribtips were realy good. Tasty and not fatty at all. Went back for lunch the next day had tamales. They were better than any other tamales we had on our trip. The restaurant is spartan, so if you want gtrand dining, this isn't the place. But if you want to eat the Delta then this is worth a visit.
