I initially ordered a waffle with turkey to go, but then changed my mind and decided to stay and eat at a table. The atmosphere and decor of the place were enchanting. I was intrigued to find an old-fashioned phone near the toilets, which the owner, Elaine, informed me was still in working condition. They also had those machines where you can win stuffed animals or sweets if you manipulate them correctly. I was never good at those, but it was fun to see them. There were jukeboxes at each table that played CDs, which was a unique touch. I enjoyed the company of Elaine and Susie, a coworker who had been there for over twenty years. Susie kindly took a picture of Elaine and me. My waffle and turkey sausage links were delicious, and the total cost was around $10.44. I also had a hot chocolate. I will definitely be returning to Olympics in the future. Have a great day, Google family! Until the next review!
What a fantastic dining experience! It's rare to find places like this nowadays that are consistently good. Not only is the food excellent, but the staff is also exceptionally friendly. And to top it off, this is the only place left from a bygone era that still has a cigarette machine in the vestibule, adding to its retro charm.
Good Afternoon Google Family!!! I visited The Olympic Diner for the first time. I have passed by this restaurant a gazzillion times and I decided to stop in today on Monday, the 4th of July. I did not expect it to be open, since many places are closed on the holiday. They open up at 6:30 AM and they close round about 3 PM. They are open 7 days a week, with the same hours. They were closed for a time, during the height of the pandemic, since there was a mandate about eating places being closed until the Corona Virus calmed down a little bit. During that time, they conducted take out services. I went in the door and a wonderful lady greeted me. I asked if they were open and the lady said yes and I proceeded to ask for a menu. I ordered a waffle with turkey sausage links to go and then I changed my mind and I decided to eat at the table. I eat fast and so I was out of there in a jiffy. I was enchanted by the ambiance and decor of the place. They had a pay phone near the restrooms. I had not seen one of them in years and Elaine the owner, said it still worked. Amazing!! They also had the vending machines where you get the prizes stuffed animals or candy) if you manipulated the machine correctly. I was never good at those machines, LOL. I always tried them and no luck!! Also they had jukeboxes the old timey ones) at the individual booths and believe it or not, I asked Elaine if they worked and she said yes. They played CD's. Amazing again!!! I enjoyed the company of Elaine, the owner and Susie, an employee, who had worked there over twenty years. Susie was gracious enough to take a picture of Elaine and I. I enjoyed my time and experience there on the 4th of July. Yes, my waffle and turkey sausage links were delicious and the cost was about $10.44 and I had a hot chocolate as a beverage. I will definitely return. Have a good day, Google Family!!! Until the next review!!
What a great little dinner! There aren't many more like it these days that's for sure. Not only is the food here on point, but the staff are exceptionally nice as well. And last but not least, the only place off the top off my head in 2022 that still keeps a (you said it!! cigarette machine in there vestibule, if your a fan of retro eatery decor.
The food was delicious and hot ... We had breakfast sandwiches just so you know they only have turkey bacon I plan on going back to have a real sit down breakfast
