After a Friday night of skiing, I went to this restaurant and ordered a large pilsner beer. I followed the recommended menu, which included a special that came with a starter, main course, and dessert. I chose the Caesar salad, lamb with grilled vegetables, rice, and dessert. It was a truly delicious meal. The bar staff was also excellent!
I went to Memories last night with five ladies. The staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and accommodated. The table d’hote included a generous selection of appetizers, mains, and desserts. The chicken parmigiano was juicy and delicious, and melted in your mouth! I have never been let down by Memories restaurant and can't wait to go back.
We stayed in collingwood for christmas this year and reserved online for our family of 7 in memories because our apartment rental was right next to it. the memories also had a buffet for $44.95 pp instead of the multicourse teller dinner, the other had buffet. works better for our family. our server was very friendly and committed. the buffet was okay. we thought the set-up was full. eating was okay, though it wasn't hot. the beverage menu was very easy with lower end wines and liqueurs, ok of them watch their bill, but not as good of them as higher end wines and liars as we do. we sat in a “private” room with another family that made for a quieter evening meal. all in all, our family needs were met for Christmas dinner this year. not to dinate on our list as a "destination" spot when in collingwood.
Memories Restaurant is located inside the Living Stone Golf Resort. My husband and I went on Sunday night so he could have their roast beef special. I ordered their $40 special. The restaurant was filled with customers by 7PM. There was one waitress taking all...the orders and a couple of others assisting by bringing the food to the table and clearing items off the tables The waitress Juanita did an excellent job considering how busy they were. My husband, a true carnivore was delighted when he saw the large amount of beef however not all of it was cooked well enough to his liking. We forgot to order well done. The whipped potatoes were good and there were plenty of vegetables. However it would have been great if a choice of a baked potato was available. A basket of bread was also delivered to out table with dipping sauce plus butter. My special came with a choice of soup or salad, main course and dessert. The salad I chose was a kale and romaine Caesar salad combination. I liked the bowl it was served in and the idea I could have bacon bits if I wanted. The house made creamy garlic dressing was delicious. The chicken parmigiano serving was not as large as I am use too. The sauce was plentiful but the chicken itself was a bit burnt on the bottom. The noodles that came with the dish were fine. For desert I chose Juanita's butter tarts with ice cream. This was definitely the best part of the meal. The butter tart has to be without a doubt the best one I have ever had. The honey caramel sauce gave it that extra melt in your mouth experience. The homemade vanilla ice cream came in a small jam jar. Just enough to be shared by my husband and myself. In conclusion we would definitely go back to this restaurant for their roast beef special. Rather than ordering the 40 dollar deal I think my preference would be to have the same salad and dessert and then have something from the menu for the main course. Yes they did have other choices than the chicken but personally they were not to my liking. If you noticed the name of the waitress and the name of the dessert that is not a coinstenance. Juanita makes the butter tarts!
