It was very obvious that customers were almost all locals. Don 't expect gastronomy but enjoy the brasserie food at a reasonable price.
My wife and I went here following a recommendation from our hotel. I thought it was excellent 3 generous and tasty courses washed down by an excellent local Pinot Noir. The food was tasty, the service excellent (our waiter spoke English so my GCSE French wasn’t required this time). It had a really nice, unrushed ambience of the sort that is so common in France but so rare in England these days. Really enjoyed it highly recommended.
Three generations had a nice dinner. The servants were busy but very attentive and kind. My faux filet was perfect, they misunderstood that we wanted boiled potatoes, not fried. Anyway,, a good experience.
We had a terrible experience in the Brasserie. Our hotel recommended the place for diner and booked us a table. That was me with my husband and our two small kids. We arrived to the place at 8:30pm, hence most of the guests already took their tables, the brasserie was half busy. We were given a place, but we politely asked if it would be possible to change it as the kids would feel more comfortable sitting at a bench, not at a chair. Regardless of 3 available table with benches we were told in a very rude way that all tables are reserved. At 8:30pm! Btw, none of the table had a reservation sign on it. After some discussion that we tried to continue in a polite way, we had an impression that the stuff is doing everything to make us leave. I am not sure what made them act that way because we are foreigners or because we came with 2 small kids that might disturb the permanent clients their actions were rude and inhumane. It’s the worst experience we had in France for the long time.
My family of 3 dined here this past Monday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We were greeted with soft pretzels that were very much appreciated after a day of touring. My son and I both had the poached salmon in butter wine sauce. It was divine! My husband had a chicken and pasta dish and enjoyed it as well. Dessert is a must. They all looked good. Our server spoke very good English which made the experience smoother than if I had muddled thru with my very limited French. It was extremely convenient to our hotel, but even closer to the train station should you be traveling through and want to try it.
