We stayed here 27th July on our way to Italy for our family holiday. We didn't arrive until around 8pm. We checked in at Reception which looks nothing like the pictures on the website. The whole place is dated and dark, to the left of reception they had seats with towels drying over them and the male receptionist was wearing shorts and an unironed shirt. He was polite and spoke fairly good English. We went to our room which is advertised as a family room with a pull out bed. We pulled out our daughters bed from under the double bed which was fine but it actually took up the walkway to the bathroom meaning we had to step over her head to go to the bathroom when she was sleeping. At the foot of her bed there was just enough room to open the inner door. The room was very small and dated. The linen didn't look particularly clean on the double bed so we slept on top of the duvet. We booked the hotel not only for the location but they were advertising they are able to accommodate people who require a Gluten Free choice on the menu. The menu was not very accommodating at all. We looked around for somewhere else to eat but there was nowhere immidiate for us to eat. We had no choice but to eat at the hotel. The restaurant again did not look as lovely as it does on the website. The furniture is old, shabby and mismatched. It was dimly lit and not inviting. Our waitress did not speak English but we tried to work around that. She showed us to a buffet area which had flys all around it. The food had dried up and to be honest looked like it had been sat there since the afternoon. We declined this option and opted for the main menu. The gluten free choice arrived burnt and our beefburgers were not cooked and **** which made the bun inedible. We tried to explaine but the lady serving did not understand. My 6 year old ate her chips only. My husband and Father in Law went to Reception to sort this out but had to wait ages for somebody to come. It was now late, we were fed up and hungry. In the end we paid the bill as the staff were not interested in our experience. We paid over 95 euros for 4 adult main meals and 1 child's which apart from chips had not been eaten. We also had 5 drinks. We decided to complain in the morning. We went to Reception to check out and speak to somebody to find it was locked up. There was another family waiting too. We decided to leave as we still had the rest of our drive to Italy to do. We had booked the same hotel for our stopover night on our way home but cancelled this through our booking agent, we are waiting for our complaint to be resolved. I would definitely not recommend this hotel as able to cater properly for families or any body who requires Gluten Free food.
Most people will find something they like, from the light snack or salad to as much as you could reasonably want, prices are moderate, even if staying at the hotel booking is a good idea as it can get very busy, not a place to find haute cuisine but this is not why people come. The buffets allow all the scope most of us want
Great for a fast and light lunch while driving. service was good, food of a good quality and price more than reasonable.
