The Gem of downtown Columbia . Such an engaging and innovative library. Columbia honestly doesn't deserve it , but it really is a huge perk of living here . The kids downstairs is incredible and has creative activities and beautiful decorations. The staff is everything you could hope for as well. My family loves this library and I've been going here for decades
This is the stuff bookworm dreams are made of. If you have not been to the Richland Library (main location) then you are missing out! The location is newly renovated, and 4 floors of amazing. Seriously, they have an entire downstairs floor dedicated to kids, with a seperate area and lounge for teens. In the massive literary themed space, you'll find giant board games, shadow rooms, dollhouses amid real trees (growing inside) and seating sections to accommodate all of your needs. From lounging on floor pillows to booths conducive to discussion or perhaps the homework station for those serious about studying. Their massive selection of materials (books, videos, audio cds, portable mp3 format books, and mini dvd players) means that you could find something for even the most reluctant readers. Best part? It's free! As a mom of four, we go weekly, and even more often during the summer.
Everyone was always helpful and I enjoyed the Adult Mystery Club that met on Saturday's. Both ladies made you feel welcome.
Ideal for children. The negative floor is the entire area for children. The layout is reasonable, the space is spacious, and the lighting effect is very good! Service attitude is good! Rich books!
