We ordered a cheeseburger with fries, a pesto chicken sandwich with fries, Brussels sprouts, a lavender cold brew with oat milk, and a lavender cold brew with chai tea and majyc mylk from their coffee menu. The chai-lavender coffee was the best coffee drink I have ever had, it was amazing. The food was delicious and the fries were cut fresh and skinny, I've never had any like them before but they were amazing. The entire place is cute and there is easy parking all around the block. It's definitely a nice place, and I will definitely be back.
The food and beer at this restaurant were fantastic. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. The servers were busy, but we found out at the end that they were short-staffed because some employees didn't show up. Despite this, everything was still good. We tried the "Farmer Burger" from the Columbus Burger Week event and it was amazing. The "Chicken Pesto sandwich" was also delicious. I really liked this place and will definitely be going back again.
Let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of Zaftig beer. I was excited to visit the pub/restaurant for the first time during Beer Burger Week. The menu had a variety of eclectic yet approachable food options. We ordered our beer and food, and the service was friendly and prompt. However, I found the food to be subpar and lacking in flavor compared to the delicious beer. One dish we ordered was served cold twice, but it was eventually taken off the bill and the manager apologized sincerely. If the rest of the menu is similar to what we had, I may not return to dine at this location but will continue to support the main brewery on the Northside. Overall, the beer is excellent.
Zaftig is me and my husband's favorite local brewery! The atmosphere is great, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the beers are delicious, and the food truck rotation is just a huge plus. One thing we love about Zaftig is that it's got a muchbigger selection of darker and heavier beers available than lots of other breweries that tend to have too many IPAs for ourtaste. Definitely a five-star place and worth a stop by!
I tried the Brewers Pretzel, the Ancient Grain Bowl, and the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, all of which were delicious and I would definitely order them again. The chef mentioned that they may add vegan cheese and aioli to the menu if there is high demand. Their lunch/dinner menu already includes vegan options such as the Butternut Squash Hummus and the Ancient Grain Bowl. Other dishes can easily be made vegan with small modifications, such as removing cheese or aioli. They also offer a separate vegan bun for the Veggie Burger. For brunch, there are plenty of vegan or vegan-optional choices, including Brunch Potatoes, Latkes, Savory Grits, and Tofu Eggs. Some dishes, like the Sweet Potato Tots and Zaftig Burger, can be made vegan upon request. They also have special deals like $3 off salads and meatless dishes on Meatless Monday, and Fried Spiced Tofu Tacos on Taco Tuesday. Only two beers on the menu are not vegan-friendly, mainly stouts and a Milk Shake IPA. They also offer cocktails (watch out for non-vegan ingredients) and wine (usually not vegan). Parking is limited near the Short North location, but they have designated spaces for customers and street parking nearby. The seating options include bar seats, high tops, and booths.
