What a fun and interesting tour for a group of entrepreneurs! We loved the story of how 291 started, found the process of creating bourbon intriguing and had so much fun tasting!
After driving all the way down from Denver as part of celebrating my husband’s birthday, the woman working that day said — in a very snarky tone — we couldn’t bring our daughter in with us and sit at a table while he did some tasters and shopped for a bottle to bring home. So instead she and I had to wait outside in the heat so it wasn’t a completely wasted trip. Needless to say we didn’t waste our money on a bottle. We’ve been to countless breweries and distilleries in multiple states and our 4 year old has always been warmly welcomed. There wasn’t a single other customer in the entire establishment so it wouldn’t have been a case of disturbing others even. During my husband’s tasting the worker could barely be bothered to look up from her phone he said.
If you like whiskey, it's a great stop. They are a creative craft distillery that produce some wonderful whiskey. Great flavor in their spirits.
Top of the line whiskey and knowledgeable bar tenders. A low-key atmosphere and great for a night when you want to actually talk with your date instead of yell over a crowd or music. But really, come for the whiskey. I can't recommend it enough.
