Situated at the junction corner right after crossing the Hampi river to reach the hippie side of Hampi, this restaurant is always crowded, mostly by Westerners. The guesthouse is run by simple and helpful Indian parents, which to me seemed like a strange combination.
This is definitely the perfect spot for breakfast, with the best freshly made coffee options including press pot, espresso, filter, or Nescafe. The bakery items are also amazing, be sure to try the cinnamon rolls and apple crumble. The service is very friendly and good.
The rates more than doubled during the peak season to 2000 rupees per day, but the room is not worth more than 500 rupees. The hot water is rarely available and the internet is unreliable. The on-site restaurant is decent, although service can be slow. However, it closes early at 9:00 pm and on New Year's Eve, they made an effort to stay open until 9:30 pm.
We only stayed for a night, and it was okay. There isn't much to do at the guesthouse itself (they don't have a chill area like many others,) but good pancakes! Rooms are big enough and it was clean. They run on solar power so didn't have any after sun set. Electric point didn't work anyway, and the light in the bathroom couldn't be turned off - attracting mosquitoes. For the price, 700 rupees, you can probably find better on Hampi island.
Stayed here for one night in January, it was right in peak season so room rates quite high. Paid 1000 rupees for the room which was fair for that time in January, Room was big, clean and had wifi which was exactly what we wanted. The restaurant was cheap and had a large range of continental foods. Staff were friendly'ish. The woman in charge was quite short. Perfect location, right next to the German Bakery, didn't eat there but cakes looked amazing, would recommend to anyone stayed
