Konak Turcesc Restaurant and Cafe

The restaurant is situated in an area which is not attractive at all but very populated. It has 3 areas and as you enter you can witness the food factory. Like most Turkish restaurants and especially in Constanța, The focus is on the food and not the decorations. The menu is extremely wide, the richest I have seen in Turkish restaurants. We took meze tabagi, a bit too much mayonnaise, but tasty. Then Ali Nazik, which was very tasty, and eggplant moussaka, good but too oily. The rice pudding was not special, lacking that smokey taste. The bill was mid to high, one product was with 5 RON more expensive than in the menu, but generally worth it as the food was close to Istanbul one and decent service.

Nice elegant restaurant and the tastyest food that i have ever eaten jn town. The best staff and really clean. The restaurant has the best deserts that i ever taste it.

The food was absolutely great, especially since we followed the waitress' recommendation. For my vegetarian request, she said they can make a plate of mushrooms&vegetables, with rice aside and topped with cheese. The result was absolutely great. My colleague had, again following the recommendation, some meat (fried I believe) on a bed of yogurt mixture. That turned out to be another great choice. For dessert we had Kunefe which was a surprise for me (a good one), not being as sweet as I would have expected. The staff was ...maybe a bit in a hurry, we didn't feel the attention and manners you normally expect from your waiters, but it was nothing exaggerated or too annoying. Nothing to stop us from coming back here :)The location's design is average, from the street looks more like a beer tavern, and inside there are just a few elements which remind you of the specific (only the music comes to my mind). I'm sure if they improve the staffs' service and the atmosphere, this place would be mind blowing ...Overall it was a great experience, I can't wait to get back there. And now, from writing this review, even if I just ate, I long so much for that amazing plate I got :D

I came with my friend here and we had adana kebab and shawarma as a main and kunefe as dessert. The food overall was good but the service was rubbish. The waitress that served us came late with the menus and after came too fast to take our order. Also i was ready to order but my friend couldn't decide on the moment so we asked for more time and we got far too much time. I received my meal but my friend had to wait around 20 minutes for her meal and it was with the wrong meat. In addition i told another waiter that the meat was wrong and it only took 5 minutes to bring a new one. Overall the restaurant should hire employees more carefully.

A variety of Turkish dishes, you can even find some Lebanese. Staff is nice and some of them speak English. It's also quite cheap. Lahmeajoun is one of their most popular dishes. Recommend it when you want to try something besides the local food.
