And the toasted teacakes and Bara Brith are nice too. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. It's not open on market days and parking in the square can be a problem.
The food at the restaurant looked appetizing at first, but halfway through our meal, my girlfriend discovered that her chips had been cooked with flies. There were dead fried flies on her chips, indicating a lack of cleanliness in the kitchen. When we complained, we were told it was just pepper, despite clearly seeing the wings and legs of the flies. The staff took the chips away but then also took all of our food when we refused to pay for them, not allowing us to take any pictures before they removed it. We left the restaurant without finishing our meal. This incident occurred on Sunday, September 18th, 2022.
We visited this restaurant and absolutely loved the turkey in gravy baguette. It was filled with sausage, bacon, stuffing, and turkey. It also came with skinny fries and was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following week for the same meal. A great aspect was that the portion was generous enough to share between two people. The only downside was the slow service, but this did not deter us from enjoying our meal.
