Just don't let your plate out of your sight! They will take it away before you are done! Other than that- very good prices and DELICIOUS authentic pozole.
A friend brought me to this restaurant on the last day of my first trip to Mexico City when she found out I had never tasted pozole. She helped me choose what to order (pozole) and I loved it, I have nothing to compare it...to, but my friend lives in Mexico City and says that the pozole there is some of the best. The soup was flavorful and filling and the tostadas and crema that are served with it were the perfect accompaniment. I also had a glass of horchata to round out my meal.
You go to this place for the pozole. They serve a very nice version of this classic Mexican soup, and it comes with tostadas, crema, chicharron, lettuce, oregano, chile, ... all the fixings. It is fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. The amazing thing is that you...get first-rate pozole for pesos, which is presently less than Beyond the pozole, the place serves tacos, quesadillas, sopes, huaraches, flautas, etc., etc.... we tried several of these, and generally liked them. The quesadillas are the oil-fried style, and maybe could be a bit more lively in their taste; the chicken flauta was a bit dry, but the beef one was great. In sum, go for the pozole, and supplement it as you are tempted. The service is spot on...
Had finished viewing the calaveras and alebriges on La Reforma and was looking for a place for lunch on the way back to the hotel. yelp recommended La Case De Toño and I'm so happy when we went in. The restaurant is the model of...efficiency...a waiter bring the menu, your write your order on a piece of paper and before your know if the food arrives. The food arrived so quickly, I was skeptical it would fresh or good. The food was DELICIOUS! We started with guacamole, had two main dishes, two beers and two waters and the cost was a few US$ I loved sitting and eating my lunch with all the locals
