Il Bel Lago - Creve Coeur

Pretty standard suburban Italian restaurant, nice if you live in the area, but doesn't have near the vibe of The Hill. It's in a stripmall for one… Food was okay. I got the lasagna and it was noticably too salty. Service was okay, not great but not bad. Decent beer selection. Had two Italian beers you don't see most other places.

Visited last weekend to celebrate a family birthday. Great food — kudos to the chef! Had a wonderful New Year's eve dinner last night. The atmosphere, service and food where all excellent. Great to see Carmelo at the door as always greeting everyone.

My husband and I entertained a business guest here a few days ago. 1) The most egregious, and disgusting, part of the experience was that my husband witnessed a member of the staff use the men’s room and promptly return to the kitchen without washing his hands 2) our guest ordered the prawns as an appetizer (or shellfish of some sort). Our 3rd time to this fine dining restaurant. The caprese salad was served without the balsamic reduction and no one came by to check on us so used the table balsamic vinegar which made a runny mess…my glass was not refilled…had to drink from my spouses glass…2 problems..the caprese salad should have never left the kitchen incomplete and been severe by the waitperson.. and the waitperson was only around to serve the next course and drop and collect the check.
