Russo's Italian Kitchen - Cypress

Horrific experience. We went there for a small celebration and not only was the shrimp scampi disgusting, those who ordered pizza weren?t impressed. On top of that, the service was AWFUL. We had to get up to fill up our drinks every single time. The restaurant barely had any customers so I don?t get why the drinks couldn?t even be refilled. I have worked on food service myself and if there were a zero stars option, I would give that. One more thing- they had the audacity to automatically add a 20 percent tip because we had 9 people (3 kids). Normally, no problem, but not deserved at all in this case. We will never return and that includes the two families who came with us.

I have been to this location several times over and always enjoyed it. However, this visit was not good. Pros: Calamari, calzone and salads were all really good. Calamari was hot and crisp, not rubbery as often is. Calzone was stuffed well and tasted great. Salad were fresh and a nice size. Cons: Pizza was not good. The dough was tough and hard to chew. There were sparse toppings. And the giant individual slices were all but burned. Additionally we were not informed there would be an automatic gratuity added to the check as we were a party of 8. As such a couple of the checks in our party double tipped. Though service was adequate it was not worthy of a $20 tip on a $50 check. More than once we had to get our own refills, and we had to go looking for the waitress on 2 different occasions for the to go boxes as well as the check. On both occasions she was standing at the front with every other server in the restaurant and they were talking in the bar area. We were barely acknowledged when we entered and not thanked when we left. Overall it was not worth the money we spent.

Came here for dinner and the food was great! The mozzarella fritti was good but the truffle oil garlic knots were amazing! We also ordered a calzone and a pepperoni pizza and it was all good. It was our first time coming here even though we drive by it all the time, I cant believe we have been missing out. This would also be a great lunch spot since they also sell big single slices of pizza!

Had a great outdoor meal with the family here! My pasta tasted fresh, the calzone my husband got looked delicious, my daughter loved her giant pizza slice. The garlic cheese bread was very good as well. I was warned by the server they were short staffed, and he apologized. I appreciated the honesty. We still had a wonderful experience.

The service food was good. The waitstaff could have been a little more attentive friendlier. We had to get our drink refills. No one bother to ask how our food was, nor were we acknowledged when we left. Like thanks for coming in or acknowledging us for choosing to eat there. They need to show some appreciation to their customers. Also they chose to add their own tip percentage, that should be left up to the customer.
