Salt enhances and brings out flavor. It's like they put them in just a pot of water and boiled them and that's it no seasoning just water, the cabbage was the same. The rice was the boil in bag type and it was horrible. Rice is simple to make 2 cups of water, 1 cup of rice. Sweet potatoes were good and the cornbread was good. It was my birthday so I splurged a bit, spent 40 bucks on something that was in a word meh at best.
I had lunch here with my coworker. Food is served cafeteria style. They were out of some of the entrees which was disappointing. The vegetables are good and fresh, not canned and greasy! A major plus for me.
Decent BBQ. I had a combo plate. The meats were good. I'm not a fan of the BBQ sauce (personal preference) so I'll do without next time. I really like the BBQ beans. Mustard potato salad was good but not my preference either. I will try out the daily specials next time.
Ordered the rib tips greens and cabbage. Cabbage was excellent. Menu was unclear I was under the impression that these were bbq ribs tips but they had some gravy they were very tough.
Went and got a oxtail plate lunch which is $31. To come come and the oxtails were undercooked which gave a tough consistency. I will not be returning to two podners the food tasted horrible!
