They have a nice area for kids to play while waiting for food and seeing that 3 of the kids never got their food this was helpful. They were out of several brews. After several adults revived their meals the waitress came out to inform parents that they only had one order of chicken tenders left; since 6 kids ordered them new items were selected. This was after they were already told they were out of corn dogs. Meals came out sporadically and it took forever to get simple things like ketchup. After adults had been served and most were done the waitress comes out to report that they are now out of pasta what the other kids had ordered and the only thing they had left was pb&j. Seriously??? What are you serving the rest of the people in the restaurant. At this point kids were hungry and tired so we opted to just leave and get them food on the way home. The only thing we received was a we are really sorry. We will return to the area but we will NEVER return to this establishment, they obviously don't know how to run a business.
Headed here after a long day of skiing. 2 adults, 2 children. Good menu and friendly service, nice variety of beers on tap. The only reason I am going with 4 stars is because several menu options and beers were not available. We will be back :
The food was very good not a very big menu though. The beer flight of their local brews was good we liked 2 of them better than the rest and bought a growler. Service was a little crazy one person there for the first hour and when the second girl showed up she brought her infant with her. Strapped the kid in a chest carrier and went to work carrying food, drinks, and her kid. She explained that her babysitter went to the hospital so she didn't have anyone to watch the kid. That seemed a little awkward to me but hey people gotta make a living.
With so many good places to eat in this area I would pass on this one. Beer is flat and food is bad. Service was very bad as well.
Meal Quality: You gotta start it up with ordering a draft of Canaan Valley's finest brews by Blackwater Brewing! I personally go for the Kolsch or the porter. The brew sampler is quite good. The seasonal brews are quite nice too! I ordered some of their black truffle tater tots and their deep fried cauliflower for appetizers for our table. Whoa man those were incredibly delicious! I then ordered a veggie burger as the main entree and it was tasty, had the right amount of moistness, and flavored well. Call me addicted, but I went back to the well for more of those truffle tater tots for dessert afterwards! They also have a good kids menu for those with children. Service: Was quite good and received service with a smile : Many of their food offerings are made from scratch so one has to keep in mind that service will not be extremely quick. Order up a Blackwater Brewery cold ones to pass the time. More than likely, you're visiting there and why worry about being in a hurry while on a vacation. It's good to relax and one cant expect to be served as fast as restaurants in a city when you're certainly not in a city lol Aesthetic Appeal Atmosphere: Nice and inviting with an open floor plan. Beautiful wood on the walls give it a fine WV mountain atmosphere. Meal Drinks Quality: 5 of 5 Service: 4 of 5 Aesthetic Appeal Atmosphere: 5 of 5
