Paranthas are a type of Hindu stuffed bread that is served with small portions of sazi (vegetables cooked in a spicy sauce). Mixing different breads and sazis creates new and surprising flavor combinations depending on the ingredients used in each. We tried paranthas filled with lemon, potatoes, peas, and cheese, paired with sazis including lentils, pumpkin, and cauliflower. The combination of the lemon parantha with the pumpkin sazi was a revelation, truly one of the highlights of our trip to India! The restaurant is located in Gali Paranthe Wali, a street near the famous Chandni Chowk market that is dedicated entirely to parantha restaurants. If you're looking to experience street food in Delhi, this street is the perfect place to start. The restaurant itself is small and casual, with a few tables outside and a dining room upstairs for families. If you find yourself in Delhi, make sure to visit Babu Ram Devi Dayal when you pass through Chandni Chowk. Highly recommended.
