Awesome experience at Verdict Ridge Golf Course! You are rated #1 for a reason. Bravo Zulu (BZ) to Jake and Larry at the Pro shop and Janet, Ivy, Adrianna and Becky at the Restaurant This is a true story how my day went from Positive to Negative to Double Positive. I had a pretty decent round (82) in just under 4.5 hours and was preparing to head out to Mooresville for my 2nd round of the day as I was visiting the Charlotte area for a family reunion and planned on playing the top six GC in the area. While in the parking lot, the worse imagined moment turned my way. I closed/locked the rental car trunk with everything in it: Car keys, Wallet, Golf clubs, and Cell phone. I had no identification and no way to contact anyone. Terrible Break. I decided to take chance and ask the gentleman at the Pro shop counter if he could let me use the phone to call the rental car company and take care of my car issue. Jake was very courteous and polite as it took several calls and waiting on hold including numerous transfers for the right person to assist me. Larry offered me a complimentary lunch and told me I could feel at ease and stay cool while I waited on the tow service. Both of you are truly outstanding gentlemen. Jake even transferred a call from the tow service representative updating me on the status of the driver while I was in the restaurant enjoying my complimentary lunch. By the way the “Candied Walnut Apple Salad” was healthy and delicious ladies. Janet, Ivy, Adrianna and Becky not in any particular order were extremely polite and welcoming to a complete stranger. I remember one of you said to me, “relax and feel at home, we love working here.” That was very comforting. I wholeheartedly appreciate your service and authenticity. About little over an hour or so, the service rep arrived and was able to get the car trunk unlocked and I was on my way. I missed my 2nd round of the day but more importantly, I was around some outstanding people from the Verdict Ridge Golf Couse Guilties Bistro that made an unfamiliar and uncomfortable moment rest-assuring and extremely positive. I played four of the top six courses in the area around the 4th of July timeframe and Verdict Ridge Golf Couse is by far the BEST! I appreciate what you did for me and have no doubt you’ll do it for any of your guest. Continue the excellent work. Hopefully I get to play and eat at your facility on future visits to the East Coast. Thanks Carlos San Diego California
THIS IS A REVIEW OF GUILTIES BISTRO, NOT THE GOLF COURSE. My wife and I arrived at the Verdict Ridge clubhouse at our reservation time of 6:30 p.m. and were promptly seated with our friends who had arrived before us. Drinks were ordered and came quickly. We declined appetizers and ordered our food fairly quickly. We opted for scallops (for my wife) and a ribeye steak, which was on special, for me. For those who have never been to this restaurant, entrees range from slightly under $15 to a high of $30 or so, about right for a mid price, no frills restaurant in Lincoln County. Rolls were quickly delivered, warm and tasty. Our meals included house salads, which were also delivered quickly and were better than I expected. Rather than just a bunch of lettuce with a cherry tomato or two, the salads had other vegetables as well onions, radishes, and (of course) tomatoes. They were also slightly larger than I had expected. We weren 't rushed in eating our salads; there was plenty of time for conversation, and our entrees arrived at the perfect time. My wife thought that there should have been more of the vegetables with her scallops. In my case, I had plenty of vegetables (Brussels sprouts, served with a honey glaze that made them quite tasty), but my steak was disappointing. I had ordered it medium rare. The problem was that there was no middle. The ribeye couldn 't have been more than a half inch thick and more likely came in at about 3/8 inch. There was no chance that the center was going to be red or pink. The overall size was there; it took up about half of my plate. It looked to me as though a somewhat small ribeye had been tenderized into submission with a mallet. It should have taken up less plate real estate and been thicker. The service was above average for this type of restaurant. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. High points for service. Prices: My flattened ribeye was $30 and my wife 's scallops were $20 about what you 'd expect to pay in an establishment such as this. She had a glass of the house white wine for $11, a bit more expensive than she thought was justified. Ambiance: What can I say. it 's a golf course clubhouse. Decor appears to be late 20th century clubhouse chic. The restaurant is capable of handling families and groups in the 10 12 person range with ease. If you 're planning for a larger group, call ahead. Cleanliness: I always check the health department inspection scores before going to a restaurant. Scores not only tell you how clean the kitchen and the eating area are and how sanitary a restaurant 's food handling practices are; they tell me a lot about the quality of a restaurant 's management. Verdict Ridge has not scored lower than a 98 in the past three years. That 's exemplary and would be the envy of most of the fine dining establishments in Uptown Charlotte. Value: Verdict Ridge is the kind of place that offers somewhat better value for the money than one might expect. With the exception of the glass of wine, which could have been a buck cheaper, the prices offer very good value for the money. After all, where else in the Charlotte area can you get a scallops meal for $20? I haven 't found such a place. Even the ribeye, odd as it was, offered really good value for the money. Would we go back? Sure. For a good meal at a fair price, we 'll go back. I wouldn 't suggest bringing a guest or a group that you are trying to impress here, though. That just isn 't the kind of place this is.
Food was outstanding, had the local rainbow trout and the nachos. This is a great spot for a cold beverage and a great meal after a round of golf.
The food is great for a semi private club. Meatball sub was solid and my wife had a bell pepper dish that was pretty solid. It 's priced exactly how you would think a club like this would be, a bit high for the quality but not outrageous. A solid where can we eat solution.
