Snookies Malt Shop - Des Moines

My daughter and I enjoyed it. Bring cash, wait in line (it moves fairly quickly, and enjoy the old style malt shop feel. It's worth the wait in line.

Forever my favorite ice cream shop in DSM! Finally made it to an opening day last night. The classic twist cone is my go-to! Brought several of my family members who had never been. Everyone loved their ice cream goodies had a wonderful experience!

Just had to say what a super little malt ship this is. We found ourselves here following a service at the nearby church and had no cash (they don't take any other form of payment). On hearing this, the charming woman being the counter absolutely insisted that we have something anyway, on the house! We were bowled over by this and the fabulous treats, hot fudge sundae malts and a lime slushie. These kind of places make one feel so optimistic about the state of the world, a gem and next time we are in Des Moines we will be back (with a fistful of cash) and suggest you do likewise​.

We live within walking distance to Snookies and it’s by far the best ice cream place I’ve been to! I can’t wait for them to open!
