Ideal starting point for excursions and hikes on the Moselle or in the volcanic Eifel. We were already here twice: the first time we had a nice double room with living and sleeping area and a large balcony overlooking the Römerkessel. A small but modern renovated bathroom with rain shower as well as a small kitchen for self-catering, hidden in a closet, was included. The second time we were accommodated in the cottage: it extends on two floors: at the bottom a spacious and beautifully furnished living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious terrace overlooking the Schwanenweiher. Upstairs two bedrooms, a bathroom and a small balcony. Both times we were very satisfied with the accommodation, the rooms are clean, spacious, bright, with large and comfortable double bed and good mattresses. We have recovered very well and enjoyed the magnificent view from the balcony. Also recommended is the restaurant with open fireplace, large outdoor terrace and beautiful winter garden. It offers a very good regional cuisine and excellent wine selection. The cook understands his craft, the staff is friendly, courteous and fleee in all areas. We had a 3-course menu, the food was freshly prepared, very tasty and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was clear but sufficient and rich, all fresh and full-quality, it really did not miss anything. Especially well we found the selection of rolls and egg dishes freshly prepared by the friendly service. The breakfast room, like the whole hotel: bright, clean and with great views of the beautiful surroundings. Excellent service in all areas, starting with Mr. Eller, who kindly welcomes guests and provides them with all the necessary information, all the way to the polite and very dedicated staff in the restaurant and in the breakfast room. You really do everything to make the guests feel comfortable. The proximity to the Eifel (Maare and Vulkaneifel about 20-30 km) and to the Mosel (Moselsteig about 15 km) offer plenty of variety and countless possibilities for a successful holiday. Also recommended are the Vulkaneifel Therme (some hundred meters from the hotel) as well as Arras Castle and the Manderscheider Burgen. Bad Bertrich and the surrounding area are really recommended for hikers. Conclusion: A cozy hotel for feeling well in the middle of nature, with magnificent views, good kitchen and very good value for money!
Generally situated away and thus quiet. Parking nearby. Excerpt from the own advertisement: ... our kitchen offers fine tastes for the pampered palate. Operation Very friendly and nice service. Very good guest service. Eating Pleasant waiting time. 1 glass Kanzemer Altenberger Saar Riesling remote herb, from a steep position of the winery of Othegraven Inh. Günther Jauch à 6.90 Euro: light and fine, very good. However, I cannot deny the following remarks: in my opinion, by the well-known TV moderator, I have put in the spotlight, although there are many other winemakers who deserve the same recognition. Jauch factor probably with the price. Tomato soup of 5,50 Euro: striking large cream bonnet, little tomato flavor. Main courses: table top à 15.90 Euro: meat tough, potatoes cold, horseradish sauce very good. Kross fried duck breast à 18.30 Euro: good, without heights and depths. Espresso à 2,50 Euro: very good and strong. The ambience Large guest rooms; no special table cover. In the large guest room quite fresh, so some guests changed to better heated room. All right! Cleanliness, but serious shortage at the table: Tablecloth has several large dirt spots and was not changed before. That there was a lot of operation in the afternoon is not an excuse.
