The Café Extrablatt with its over 70 franchise companies is often represented in our region. Also in Dortmund a new branch was opened after a long break, which is located in the Kleppingstraße near the Marienkirche, an extremely favorable location, but the Kleppingstraße next to the Hellweg and the Hansastraße is one of the most lively shopping streets in the city centre. Of course, I wanted to know what to expect in the new industry. Now the huge space, divided into different areas by steps and low partitions, is flooded with light and gets a very special atmosphere through the huge chandeliers. The seating areas and niches offer different people space and are far enough apart to not feel crowded. Also noticeable is the huge counter for drinks. After my first impression, the young operators seem to be fast and very attentive. As far as the offer is concerned, the card is not very extensive and, in addition to some snacks, is mainly limited to Italian dishes. Since I am an exceptional pizza fan, I also chose one and was very pleasantly surprised. The soil was, as I wish, thin and crispy at the edges, and the cover was neither drowned in tomatoes nor in cheese. Also the Grauburgunder was excellent and quite acceptable from the price (0.2l for 4.45€. Since it is comfortable and relatively quiet, my next visit will definitely take place in accompaniment, because here you can enjoy the food completely undisturbed, which I like very much.
