Food is good. Atmosphere is bland. Kinda generic, but not totally disappointed either. Not sure if they smoke the meat or just cook it in an oven. Didn't smell any smokers or taste the wood smoke on the BBQ, which for me is the essence of southern BBQ. I probably wouldn't make a special trip just to eat there. But wouldn't say no if the situation arrose.
The staff is always friendly, and the food is incredible. They have a variety of BBQ sauces on the tables, which are also available for purchase. If you're a fan of peach cobbler and have a sweet tooth, this is definitely the place to go. They offer the peach cobbler in several sizes, so whether you share it or not, you'll enjoy it. But trust me, you'll want to keep it all to yourself! The combination of the crust and peaches is just perfect. The Brunswick stew is also fantastic.
The grilled pork was excellent. The hush puppies were very fresh and crispy. The sweet potato crunches were outstanding and perfectly balanced—not too sweet.
This is a no-frills barbecue restaurant that offers quick service and delicious food. Don’t be misled by the exterior; this place used to function as a convenience store. The outside hasn’t changed much, except for the large smoker that juts out from the front wall. However, what they lack in curb appeal is more than made up for by the quality of the food they serve. I typically visit this restaurant at least once a month.
