The dining experience is pleasant, but it leans towards the pricey side, and portion sizes tend to be smaller. Access to the cash register can be challenging, especially if you have a stroller, which has contributed to my reluctance to dine here frequently. However, they do offer a wonderful selection of gourmet foods and specialty items, making it a great place to find gifts.
This is a lovely delicatessen with a menu of cooked dishes. The pasta was good, though the portions were a bit on the smaller side. The gnocchi was incredibly soft, almost too much, but the sauce was excellent—very fresh and flavorful. The chili prawn spaghetti was just a tad too spicy for my taste. Overall, it wasn't bad!
Since my last visit, I've had a complete change of heart about this cafe/deli in Castle Hill, and I've been coming several times a week. The staff is well-trained, and their product knowledge has significantly improved. The items offered are incredibly fresh, with a great selection that includes some excellent options like tapenade, dried pasta, and ready-made sauces. The ham is particularly outstanding, and there's a wonderful variety of salami and cold cuts. I was pleasantly surprised to find some unique products in the display case, which aren't commonly found in many delis these days. While burrata is still not regularly in stock, I'm hoping to see it available soon. I'm also interested in trying their catering service for my next gathering. The coffee and menu options in the cafe are both quite good as well. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and I wish them all the best. I've really come to enjoy the "humble pier" since my last review.
