Thirsty Mate Restaurant - Dunnville

My hubby and I went to the Thirsty Mate for a Friday night dinner date. It was busy, as fridays in the summer usually are, but we only waited five or so minutes to get a table. Seating is inside or out and your wait will be shorter if you are flexible on where you sit, as we did. Many families were there and they are able to accommodate large parties, especially outside under their gazebos. You have a beautiful view of the Grand River and boats that have docked at the restaurant. Ordered the Fishermans Feast which had pickerel, Perch, shrimp and scallops along with fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. We ordered an appetizer first, so we shared the main dish and found the portions to be enough to feed us both. We'll be going back again soon! (This is a seasonal restaurant, not open in winter)

It's all about the food - Perch was excellent. Lightly breaded, crips and light. View over the river was fun.

By the the best deal for perch around town.The fries and coleslaw are really good too. If the weather in nice you can sit outside with a view of the river. Have eaten here several times and recommend to anyone. Open sesonal though

Great food at a good price with a view of the Grand River. They have seating for large groups outside. Check their schedule, SADLY, not open early week or late season

Good food, good people, good atmosphere, good value all round great place to go for fresh fish/seafood caught by owners family daily!
