Yaya Tea - Durham

The restaurant was okay. I tried the onigiri and found that the filling-to-rice ratio could be more balanced, but I'm not sure if that's just how onigiri is supposed to be. It was my first time trying it so I don't have anything to compare it to. I appreciate that there are multiple vegan options available. The boba tea was decent.

I recently found out that this restaurant received a health and safety score of 86, indicating several concerning issues such as bleach near food, non-food utensils being used for food, cooking boba and rice in the same cooker, and various other problems. While I have enjoyed dining at their other locations, I would advise caution when dining at this particular location until they improve their score.

I went to this restaurant for lunch and enjoyed it so much that I ordered delivery from them for dinner. I had been wanting onigiri for a while before moving here, and I was thrilled to find a place so close to my new downtown home. I tried the spare rib, ginger chicken, gong pao, and spring roll onigiri (without mayo). The bubble tea and tofu fries were also delicious.

I dined at this restaurant for lunch and also ordered delivery from them for dinner. I had heard good things about their food before moving to this area, and I was pleased to discover a restaurant so close to my new home in the city. I tried the spare rib, ginger chicken, Kung Pao chicken, and shrimp onigiri (without mayo), all of which were delicious. The bubble tea and tofu dishes were also fantastic.

I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but their quality has definitely gone downhill recently. The drinks are weak and I can't believe they charge $5 for tofu fries that look like this. The only reason I still come here is for their onigiri, which are usually pretty good.
