Food is hot and cooked properly not overcooked, staff were helpful and friendly. It was a lovely meal and the portions were generous, I enjoyed every mouthful the standard of the food would not have been out of place in a restaurant. Beautiful food
I visited a garden centre and decided to grab a coffee and toasted tea cake. The lady at the register first toasted our tea cakes, then started making our coffees while I had to wait at the counter. It took about 7 minutes for the coffee to be ready, so by the time we got them, our tea cakes were cold and hard. The line behind me was quite long by the time I received my order. It might be better for the person at the register to focus on one task at a time. Perhaps implementing table numbers and having a staff member bring the drinks over could improve the service. Unfortunately, the coffee was weak and not very enjoyable after the long wait.
Excellent value for money. Adults got a big breakfast with a hot drink. The children chose a bacon sandwich with juice. Other choices were available. Table was set with a red cloth and crackers. The magician spent quite a while at our table doing tricks which fascinated the grandkids. Then he did a show involving the children who all got a balloon in different shapes. After the show Father Christmas arrived with an elf and gave all the children a present with their name on. The kids liked theirs. Meccano and lego The story at the end told by the elf went on a bit too long but certainly a good 1 and a half hours worth of fun.
We remembered visiting this cafe a few years ago on our way to the east coast and so decided to have some lunch there, as we were unable to park in Beverley. We remembered it as being okay. However, not this time! My OH decided on scampi lucky him! I, unfortunately for me, decided on the Sunday roast. Where do I start? Well, firstly the beef was so tough I couldn't chew it, the vegetables, although plentiful were all frozen and completely tasteless (who serves frozen veg in restaurants these days? . Then we come to the gravy, thick, glutinous, salty and didn't contain any meat juices at all, in fact, when I saw the gravy I knew I was in trouble! I probably ate two or three mouthfuls and left the rest, hoping that the owners would realise how appalling it had been. However, on second thoughts, they probably won't! Avoid.
