Pizzeria Portofino - EASTSOUND

Have never been here, but please have five stars for the best owner comments on the entire internet.

We ordered a large pizza and told it was 14 and the medium 12 , It measured about 12.5 , I pointed this out to the front desk questioning that it was a medium instead of a large. He adamantly said it was a large. Shaving an 1 to 1.5 off the outside diameter is significant. My wife, son and I are not heavy eaters, this pizza verily sufficed. Also, I left a very generous upfront tip and he knew we were seated outside, he didn 't bother to yell our names out or take the extra 30 seconds to bring it to us when it was ready. It wasn 't until our son went in to check on it that we became aware it had been sitting on the take out shelf for awhile. Don 't pre-tip this place until you 've had your product! As for flavor and quality, I 'd give it a B-, if the crust was better a B+. As for leaving a tip, it would have been $0.

So, we love pizza and went here (it looked good in the picture). AWFUL the pizza was incredibly dense and thick with very little topping. I hate to say this, but these guys obviously do not know, or do not care, how to prepare the dough. I had to scape off the top from the dough to eat part of this thing, AND we thought we could sit down and eat with an hour to spare before closing, Nope, only takeout at that time. We won’t be back and definitely will not recommend this eatery.

Placed a takeout order over the phone. Pizzas were ready on time, but that’s about the only positive. We got 3 large pizzas (Genoa, Hawaiian and portofino special) and a house salad. Heads up, the “large” pizzas are the size of medium dominos/Pizza Hut pizzas. The crusts were tasteless and overall presentation looked worst than frozen pizzas very disappointing. The Genoa was missing the pine nuts. The cheese looked like plastic and lacked flavor. Overall would not recommend and would not return.

Great place to grab a decent pizza on the island! We got the Hawaiian OG, and the nori was an unexpected but really interesting addition. The Belgian chocolate pie was also excellent! I'll definitely be coming back before here next time I am in the area. Service: Take out Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
