Bangkok Bistro - Eden

The customer service at this restaurant is terrible. It is not advisable to book in advance as they may not honor your reservation. Despite having a phone log to prove our booking, the restaurant was closed when we arrived on the scheduled day. Upon contacting their other location, we were informed that the restaurant had gone out of business and would not be reopening. The staff did not show any concern for our inconvenience and even laughed at our disappointment. This seems to be a common occurrence as we later found out that others had experienced the same issue. We used to frequent this restaurant under previous ownership, but we will not be returning after this experience.

My friends and I visited this restaurant last night based on good reviews while on a weekend trip to the Lake District. We ordered our food and the starters arrived promptly. However, despite multiple attempts to order a specific bottle of wine, we were served a more expensive bottle instead. When we tried to correct the mistake, we were met with confusion. After finishing our starters, we waited for our main courses as the restaurant became busier. After 90 minutes, we still hadn't received our food and no updates were provided. We eventually flagged down the only waitress, who informed us that our food had not even been started due to us ordering starters. Disappointed, we decided to leave after paying for the incorrect wine and forgotten starters. We opted for a Chinese takeaway nearby, which offered delicious food at a lower price and in a fraction of the time.

I stumbled upon this bistro after arriving late in Penrith. Despite the bistro being about to close, they graciously stayed open to accommodate me and my partner, and I am so grateful they did. We started with the sharing chicken platter, which was delicious and I couldn't fault it. The satay sauce was the best I've ever tasted. For the main course, we had pad Thai, which was also delicious. I found the food to be reasonably priced, especially considering the high quality. The staff were friendly and pleasant. I would like to give compliments to the chef and encourage them to keep up the good work. I would definitely visit again if in the area.

We had a great time! Ordered a green curry and the jungle curry with steamed jasmine rice, both were fresh and nice and spicy! Plus we had the papaya salda that knocked our socks off! Order of you like spice. We love Thai food because of all the Vegan options. We will be heading back!

I recently moved near to Penrith and to celebrate we ordered a take away from Bangkok Bistro. The place was not busy but we were still given the wrong takeaway (and only realised when we got home). I drove back to the shop to return it and collect our own and when I arrived ours was sat on the counter getting cold. By the time we ate it was stone cold (no microwave yet in our new house) and to top it off we were still missing one of our orders (which we had paid for). Throughout the process the service was frosty and I was made to feel that the mistakes were my fault. Altogether a terrible shame which spoilt what was supposed to be a celebration evening. All the more frustrating as the food was actually pretty decent.
