Yocoko Noodle - Edinburgh, City of

While strolling through Edinburgh, I was craving noodles and stumbled upon Yocoko, which turned out to be a great find for a budget-friendly meal. I opted for the mixed meat with vermicelli noodles, Cantonese style, and added a cute rabbit-shaped rice dish from the menu. The noodles were exactly what I was looking for: wok-fried with a delicious soy sauce base and a generous mix of chicken, beef, and pork. The rabbit rice looked different than expected but was still adorable and tasty, with sticky rice in a tomato and egg soup. The entire meal cost me about £8 and left me satisfied. The service was quick and friendly, and the quiet atmosphere provided a nice break from city exploration. Yocoko is a great spot for a tasty and affordable meal.

Very polite and professional waiters. Spotless bathrooms. Food: not sure what it is in Edinburgh, but ethnic restaurants seem to have adapted their seasonings to the local palate. Restaurants in Toronto are totally authentic. Flavours here just seem muted . Meal was ok. Shrimps were deveined, always a positive sign of cleanliness.

I absolutely adore this place! I am quite surprised by the moderate reviews because every time I have dined here, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Yocoko is known for its quick service, great prices, and extensive menu. I usually opt for a noodle dish as I am a huge fan of noodles, but there are also rice options available. One of the best things about Yocoko is that they offer unlimited green tea for free. With the amazing value for money at this restaurant, you can easily have a meal and drink for less than £10, which is fantastic in central Edinburgh. I personally prefer Yocoko over Red Box because the food is served on plates and the drinks in glasses. It is definitely worth a visit.

We visited this place midday. Instead of haggis or coffee with shortbread something Asian style. We were not disappointed, fast service and fair prices. Shortly after placing the order we got our dishes. Sure we are from Germany and in one instance more guessed what we have ordered lacking some vocabulary but it was all good. The only missing points for a five star review, the chairs are something worn out and the fast delivered and freshly cooked noodle dish was a little bit to greasy.

I stopped by this restaurant last night on a whim while looking for a place to meet a friend and grab a bite to eat while waiting. Surprisingly, my friend arrived quickly and we both ended up deciding to eat there. The restaurant mainly serves Chinese-style noodles, so the menu is pretty typical Chinese restaurant fare. While they do offer some "Japanese-style" dishes, it's not quite like dining at Wagamama. We both ordered the Japanese mixed vegetable meal, which came with a bowl of rice and mixed vegetables that lacked any exotic ingredients. The meal also included a small salad with a large dollop of what seemed to be mayonnaise, a cup of miso soup that was on the watery side with bits of something stringy (perhaps egg), and a single strawberry on a small dish. It was a bit odd, but considering the late hour and limited options, the place was busy and the food was hot and reasonably priced. We also had beers and the total bill came to just £16, so it was a cheap and cheerful experience.
