Wicked Lady St Albans - El Tocuyo

Again they didn't have what we ordered and were not told what was not available when arrived. They didn't have the starter or main that I asked for and then chose a second starter which they also didn't have so gave up on the starter. What we did have was good but not what I had hoped to have. The starter that my husband ordered came 2 mins after ordering and before even drinks had arrived so that felt too rushed. We will give it a miss for a while as was not what we had hoped for.

The restaurant was busy on this Friday night and the service was slow. Food was reasonable but, in my opinion, up to the standard I have come to expect of the Wicked Lady.

We had the Festive menu which was good but not as good as the tasters we were invited to, back in November. The waitress forgot to offer us the free Prosecco which we only found out about on the bill, when it was too late. The seafood starter was really lovely, the turkey was average not particularly special (roast potatoes were over cooked) and the crime brûlée had too thick a glazed top and too runny immediately underneath. We had a really enjoyable evening but there were things that could have been better.
