Peony Palace Chinese Mongolian Bbq

Tried this place after a friend recommended her neighborhood Mongolian BBQ spot. The place is clean and service is really friendly. The egg drop corn soup was sooo good! I scraped my bowl. I was a little disappointed that there were no bean sprouts available at the time I made my bowl. Also, the veggies are cut pretty large and thick. I always add my sauces and mix my perfect blend. But here, the cook, adds sauces. You aren't asked what you want or if you want more...it just happens. What is chosen and how much I have no clue because I was never asked and there was a different blend for myself and my husbands bowl. I found that odd. Also, there is a whole entire bowl of water used during the cooking process so that waters down the sauces quite a bit. I've seen a splash or a few cups of water used at other places but here it seemed a bit much. I'd come back, but only for the egg drop corn soup. Yummy!

General chicken is amazing. Nancy is super Great food great service. Can't wait to go back

The best Chinese restaurant in Elk Grove! Hands down! If you are into more spicy- ask the meal to be made Indian style . You won 't be disappointed!

Food: delicious, great variety for vegetarian and vegans (if you like it spicy then ask them Indian style apparently they add more garlic, ginger and spice Service: great, always good service! Ambiance: lively! just 1 star less because I would like to see it more cleaner.

I come here all the time! Love the food! But tonight the service was not good. Let me say the service from the Mongolian BBQ cook was not great. Our server was awesome! She was very kind and provided great service. However, the cook at the stove was not. The restaurant closes at 8:30. We are in there well before then (7:45) and ordered and got our first bowl. By 7:18pm the cook starts cleaning up and telling people to hurry because they close at 8:30. The waitress was telling us and others that came in roughly the same time as us to go ahead and grab our last bowl before they close. The cook is pulling food serving utensils up and making it difficult for us to grab. Then pulls the different sauces up so we no longer can make our own but forced to do the house. It was rude! It was not 8:30 yet and the restaurant was still full of customers. They should have waited until 8:30 to stop serving OR tell the wait staff that last call is at a certain time. It was very unprofessional. Stop taking customers @8 if you want to be done by 8:30 on the dot. I've never had a bad experience until tonight.
