I’ll just bring that particular GF friend next time! I ordered the pork belly waffle dish and my friend ordered the Benedict Arnold, both delicious. Loved the waffles! Everyone is super nice. Look every restaurant is short handed so be nice. And tip. Just to clarify as I see other posts— they don’t take reservations, so first come, first serve. I used to work in a restaurant (but even so, use your common sense), and just because a table is empty, it doesn’t mean it’s available for you. They might just have two servers available. Anywho, definitely will come back when I visit so I can try other dishes.
We saw The Waffle Experience from downtown Sacramento showcased on Man vs Food. When we came to Elk Grove to visit family, we knew we wanted to try this restaurant. It exceeded expectations. The food was delicious. We had the following from the regular menu: We Found the Beef and Chicken and Waffles. Our daughter ordered one of the day’s specials, Strawberry Fields. We shared bites with each other because trying to make one decision was so hard. Our server Brandi was kind and efficient. Fabulous service and food! On 1/1/2022 we returned for our 2nd order (we live out of state). We each tried something different this time and enjoyed it. We had Benedict Arnold with potatoes, Eggsellent with potatoes, Avocado Toast w/ fruit, and We Lost the Beef with fruit. So glad we ordered here again!
Just Go! We were intrigued by the photos posted by past customers and decided it was time for a visit. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Man vs Food logo next to one of the plates and knew immediately that we were in for a treat. I decided on the Chicken and waffle with Pork Belly Hash with a side of Pork Belly. My wife built her own waffle and ordered 3 scrambled eggs. It’s the day after our visit and we just finished our left overs. Yes, the portions are big. I was gonna scarf it down and feel bloated it was so good, however, I decided 3/4 of the way through that I was gonna set aside ¼ of it for the next day. It was so good! It’s not your typical breaded chicken! It’s truly hand made and you will enjoy every bite. We will be coming back again and again.
If you are a foodie this is a must try! I had my eye on this place since moving to Elk Grove. This is not your frozen waffles out of a box, so be prepared for high end but humble food. Atmosphere and staff are great. Definitely a must try.
This place is a hidden gem. We got the Praise the Lard waffle and the Johnny Appleseed for a sweet and savory meal. They were both amazing. The way they make such a diverse and delicious menu entirely based on waffles is great. Would recommend for anyone who loves waffles and a good brunch. However, make reservations if possible, as the wait on the weekends can get pretty long at the brunch and lunch hours.
