You use to have full service outside on the patio, now you have to order at the bar. You use to have a larger water jug outside, now you wouldn’t even give me a glass of water with me meal, I was told I could only buy a bottle. What type of restaurant doesn’t give water with the meal and forces you to buy bottled water ! You’ve raised your prices and cut your service. I won’t be back until I hear things have changed, especially being so cheap to not give people water with their meals. Just horrible!!
Parking is tight, but the food is good. I was impressed with our waitress. She never wrote anything down and got everything right.
I’ve been going to Woodstock for a couple years. The food is good, that’s not the issue. It’s expensive, and getting more expensive. Last night put me over the edge to elect a review. Half priced cheesesteak night—the catch is that the cheesesteaks were half-sized. They were nowhere near the same size as on a normal night. They were very good, but tiny. I told my buddy it felt like we were bait-and-switched. Not cool.
I would have given Woodstock Inn 4/5 stars before learning of their most recent business decision removing access to non bottled water if not physically in the main restaurant (they have an outside patio/bar area). This is borderline illegal in MD since tap water is required to be available to patrons. They 're banking on you not wanting to walk into the main restaurant to ask for water and you 'll instead just buy bottled water from the outside bar out of inconvenience. Full story mountain bikers and hikers have become a huge source of revenue as they 're next to a large network of trails. Over the past summer, they had provided self service water containers in the patio area (I presume to lessen demand on waitstaff asking for water). Great, grand, wonderful. Thank you! Those are now gone and so when I asked the bartender for water, the response was we 're not allowed to give out water in the bar area anymore. I can sell you a bottle of water. If you want tap water, you 'll have to go to the main restaurant. For the record, I 'm not just asking for free water and leaving, heaven forbid. The water was for my wife, to go along with our full meal and my beer.
1.5 hour wait for food. Would not disclose this wait time in advance and when numerous people walked up to the bar to check on the status of their food, they told them they could not find out how long it would be. Place to go if you don't mind killing a lot of time.
