Contribuisci feedbackThis was my first time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was eclectic and not too noisy, even though it was mid-morning. I had a quick coffee and shared a toastie.
Volumes is a bookstore, gift shop, and café all rolled into one. And let me tell you, when it comes to this place, great things really do come in threes.
We used to frequent Volumes for years, but not anymore. The delicious salads and food we once enjoyed are no longer available, and our recent meal was disappointing. One of our dishes never arrived, causing us to have to ask for it (even though there were only two of us). The chips accompanying the burger were inedible, just chunks of fat. The nachos lacked fresh ingredients and were not up to the standard we would expect from any cafe. Despite our complaints, there was no apology or feedback given. We will not be returning.
Went there to have lunch and noticed it was empty of people than looked at the fridge display and knew instantly something was not right. What once was an appetising display was now sad and empty with a few dried pasties. Menu had changed too. I did not stay to try as it had a bad vibe.
Always consistently great. A good selection of food and drinks, excellent coffee and an relaxed atmosphere. Grab a paper and kick back with a hearty breakie.
